Last weekend, our team Smelt 22152 went to the WA State FTC Championship and put up a strong fight for a spot at worlds. Sadly our season has ended after going wheel to wheel with the best bots of state, however the team showed incredible effort towards earning a progressional slot to worlds.

Overall, team Smelt has reached multiple achievements this season I’d like to commemorate.
First: they were a finalist team in the Asimov Super Qualifier.
Second: Smelt has won two innovation awards.
Third: the team’s Auto and Tele-op scoring across all matches is greater than 95.31% and 94.03% of all other teams worldwide.
And it goes without mentioning they ended with a position of 12th in this competition where the points scored was 450% of what was being scoured in their first competition back in their first Bardeen League meet this season.

This year’s FTC was incredible, and couldn’t be summarized better than by the Drive Team Coach of Smelt, Kai Andrews.
“The season was very fun and making it to state was a new experience that inspired me to work harder in robotics. This year we refined many of our skills across the board including teamwork and communication while improving our design process. Overall, next season I hope to optimize our time at meetings and strive to improve on mistakes this year. This team and this season have been amazing and we know areas we are working to improve to make next year even better.”
